Club nights are for dancing and socialising.

The Annual General Meeting will be on 26th September 2017
during a short break from dancing.

We do not normally organise public dances
but members actively support many others.

The Club was established in 1919, after a meeting to discuss the formation of a branch of the English Folk Dance Society.
The formation proceeded with immediate effect after unanimous support and has continued to the present day. The first social evening being held on 3rd December 1919 with an attendance of around 200 people. In 1926 Branch Membership was 125.
In the early days the Branch being a much more formal structure than the Club we have today, as examinations and award of certificates were the norm.

At present we have about 40 members, with a relaxed, leisurely approach, ensuring all who join us are taking up a hobby they may enjoy for many years.

The Hull Folk Dance Club is now one of the oldest folk dance clubs in Yorkshire.

Hull Folk Dance Club is affiliated to English Folk Dance and Song Society.
